A DOUBLE DATE AT THE GATE

(2-CD DIGIPACK)
SOUNDBOARD RECORDING

On November 28 & 29, 1976 Elvis performed two shows at the Cow Palace in the flower-city San Francisco. These shows have been regarded as some of Elvis' finest performances during this busy bicentennial year for The King. Gathered here in a beautiful 2-disc digipack is both shows in excellent quality. Unfortunately the sound engineer was not able to capture the whole shows while recording, but on this release you will find every second that was captured. The sound on both shows has been remastered by professionals and has never sounded better.

"It's almost Christmas, so why don't we release a "new" Elvis live CD" must have been the thoughts of these producers of this CD. Well I think they're too late!

The November 28, 1976 show was previously released as "America, The Beautiful" in 1997 by King Records (good sound)  and again as "San Francisco Bay Blues" in 2011 by Audionics (excellent sound).

The November 29, 1976 show was previously released as disc 1 on the FTD release "The West Coast Tour '76" in 2016.

A FLING WITH THE KING

FROM THE BOOTH TAPES VOL.9  (2-CD DIGIPACK STRAIGHT ARROW)  CD 1) LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, USA, 12-02-1973 DINNER SHOW
CD 2) LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, USA, 12-02-1973 MIDNIGHT  SHOW

Coming out soon is the 9th volume of Straight Arrow's "From The Booth Tapes“ series. It's 2CD entitled "A Vegas Fling With The King" featuring Elvis' Dinner and Midnight show from February 12th, 1973. These recordings are taken directly from original 'booth recorded' mastertapes.
These concerts showcase Elvis in excellent form! Famous actor Jack Lord and his wife Marie were present for both shows. Elvis called out Jack's name, and Jack stood up. The applause was tremendous. Elvis grinned and said, 'Sit down, Jack, you're getting more applause than I am'.
Both  shows are previously unreleased and 100% complete. The February 12, 1973 D/S is a completely new show, even for die-hard Elvis fans. It has never been in circulation - in any form. The February 12, 1973 M/S was in circulation in the form of amateur CDRs in very bad sound. It has nothing to do with the top-notch booth quality tape presented here by Straight Arrow. Ask your dealer for sound samples.

As usual, this new release will be presented in a beautiful 4-panel digipak that includes Jack Lord's special memory of Elvis and rare photos taken on- and off-stage during Elvis’ 1973 Las Vegas Winter season.

If you liked our previous Las Vegas 1973 releases like “One For The Ladies” (SA/SP 2016-41-02) or “Doin’ The Best I Can” (SA/SP 2015-29-02), we'll bet that you will also love this one!

HILTON SHOWROOM VOL. 6

(2-CD AUDIREC) HILTON HOTEL, LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, USA, 27-08-1974 MIDNIGHT SHOW

AudiRec proudly presents: ELVIS – HILTON SHOWROOM VOLUME 6 – a brandnew 2 CD Set which will be released at the end of this month (November). This time we have decided to release the Midnight Show from August 27, 1974 and it is the first time that this show is available on a “real” cd in its entirety. One day earlier (on the 26th) Elvis had to cancel both shows to virtually “stay in bed” because of the flu. He was definitely upset about this and has been heard saying “I would have not canceled a show but the doctors told me that I might get pneumonia again and put me in bed for several days”. But just one day later - on the 27th - he was back again!

If you are familiar with Elvis´ engagement in August of 1974 you sure are “used” to a whole lot of unusual shows with a very talkative Elvis, who was really “upbeat” most of the time and sometimes (especially at the end of the engagement) even aggressive. Still, these shows were almost all very entertaining and definitely had their moments. Las Vegas newspapers announced the return of the “King” with the words “Elvis Presley continues his blockbuster two-week engagement in the main showroom of the Las Vegas Hilton with two shows every night at 8 p.m. and midnight. The gyrating, swivel-hipped superstar, now in his 11th Hilton appearance. is once again setting new attendance records at every show.” Elvis Presley in 1974 was kind of an “undisputed” champion in terms of percentage of seats sold related to Las Vegas and the many performers who played there. Fans of our series know what to expect from our brandnew 2 CD Set, not only from listening but also from reading in the usual high quality booklet that is included with first-hand information from what was going on at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas in August of 1974 – including a review of the show written by Martha Collins who was in the audience. The review was printed just two weeks later in Rex Martin´s legendary weekly Elvis News magazine.

Please be aware that this new release is limited to 300 copies only! Be sure to get your copy if you are interested. Once you have it in your hands, we hope your spare time will allow you to sit back, put your headphones on, flip through the accompanied 16-page booklet and listen to the Midnight Show from August 27, 1974. It´s Las Vegas! It´s the Hilton Hotel Showroom! It´s ELVIS! Enjoy!
