THE ASHEVILLE MARATHON

The well known Import label “AudiRec” is back with a very nice and special 4 CD box, titled “THE ASHEVILLE MARATHON” (AudiRec AR 197507234-2).

Hear three of the most unusual Elvis Presley Shows of the 1970´s! When Elvis came to Asheville, NC in late July of 1975 to play the final shows of his running tour, he was indeed in a “giving” mood. Elvis delivered a whole bunch of rarely performed song material and handled a big part of them in a kind of “Elvis By Request” style. Since his Record Company RCA was not on hand to record these shows professionally, we can be thankful that fans did record the shows at least with private (non-professional) equipment. One thing is clear: It would have been a big pity if none of those three shows would have been recorded and therefore been “lost” forever.

In July 1975, Elvis played 21 shows in 11 different cities. This tour was rated as being one of the very best in Elvis' last years. His powerful vocal delivery, his entertaining mood and his willingness to improvise various unusual songs are what make this tour such a stand-out, and the final 3 shows in Asheville, NC were simply stunning!

In Asheville Elvis also played the longest shows of the tour and performed many rarely sung songs. He was kind of promoting his new album “ELVIS TODAY” with “Shake A Hand”, “Fairytale”, “T.R.O.U.B.L.E.” and “Pieces Of My Life”. More than any time before he was interacting with his audience, singing songs by request. For example “Memphis Tennessee”, “An American Trilogy”, “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Jailhouse Rock”, “Something”, “Return To Sender” or “Wooden Heart”.
Elvis was in a hilarious mood. He gave away several golden rings and a fan in the first row - Mike Harris from Asheville - was lucky to get Elvis’ Gibson Ebony Dove guitar! It was the famous guitar which Elvis used in Aloha From Hawaii. Later in the show, Mike Harris thought Elvis was gonna ask for the guitar back, but Elvis leaned down and said: “'No that's yours. I gave that to you for a reason, and it's gonna help you out some day.”
These shows were previously released, but all original releases are very hard to find now. Instead of doing a simple “copy & paste” job, we have asked our friends from SA to help us to enhance the sound from scratch, so we are sure that those shows never sounded better! The release is presented in a strong and stable 25 x 14 cm de-luxe 4 CD Long-Box accompanied by a 16-page booklet, filled with a great collection of photos taken in Asheville and press reviews.
To make our release even more attractive for serious collectors, we present it in 3 different variations. It means 3 different covers and each cover´s got its own disc labels, too! The content of the CD´s does of course NOT vary! Choose the one version you like most or “collect all three”! In any case do not miss the opportunity to own your copy / copies of “THE ASHEVILLE MARATHON“! It’s the ultimate release of Elvis' magical July 1975 Asheville shows!

BLACK TORNADO

2-CD DIGIPACK
E.P. COLLECTOR)
PUBLIC AUDITORIUM, CLEVELAND, OHIO, USA, 06-11-1971 2;30 PM + 8;30 PM SHOWS
Audience Recording

Our new 2-CD is titled "BLACK TORNADO"

Now, when majority of Elvis import labels is only re-releasing old stuff in new packages, E. P. Collector label is coming with another surprise! The Cleveland, November 6, 1976 Afternoon & Evening shows are previously unreleased and moreover, they were never available in listenable sound, until now!

Elvis November ’71 tour was rated as one of Elvis’ very best in the 70s. Compared with previous tours in September and November 1970, individual shows were longer and set list was variable more than before. It was the only tour in 1971 and it was the last time when Elvis was accompanied by The Imperials, too. Elvis played 14 shows in 12 days in 12 different cities.

Among the concert highlights there are fantastic performances of ,,Proud Mary“, „You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling“, „How Great Thou Art“ „I’m Leavin’“, „Bridge Over Troubled Water“, „Lawdy Miss Clawdy“ and „ The Impossible Dream“.

Both concerts are taken from direct transfers of recently-found original audience-recorded cassette tapes. Those shows were recorded by Elvis fan Joyce Bauer, who passed away a couple of years ago. She followed much of Elvis' 1971 tour in November, and her tapes have never been in circulation before. You may ask your supplier for samples.

This CD is packaged in a nicely designed double digipak with collection of images taken during both shows, reprints concert tickets and various press reviews and newspaper clippings.

If you have enjoyed our previous releases called „The First Time Ever I Lay With You“ and „Looked Into The Wings”, then you are sure to enjoy our latest release, too.

THERE'S A SWEET SPIRIT IN THIS PLACE

STRAIGHT ARROW - DIGIPACK

Originally Straight Arrow planned only the two CDs Rumble In Rode Island and My Wish Came True. But just weeks ago they were suddenly able to obtain this very interesting recording in excellent sound - and complete. We are aware of the fact that there is a so-called May 4th, 1976 D/S in circulation, but it presents only half of the show in average sound. It was even spliced with about 30 minutes of May 2nd, 1976 D/S! What we are releasing now is the real McCoy, folks!
So now for the first time ever - in excellent audience recorded sound, and complete from beginning to the end! The show is a true delight - Elvis is in a relaxed mood, singing remarkably well... Best show & best sound of the season!
This release is presented in a de-luxe 6-panel digipak with a collection of photos taken in Lake Tahoe, May 1976 as well as an original pre-season promotional article.

MY WISH CAME TRUE

STRAIGHT ARROW - DIGIPACK

It was the 1st tour of 1977 and in spite of his unhealthy look, Elvis was in solid voice - especially near the end of the tour. February 20 is one of best shows of the tour and it marked the first time that Elvis attempted his recent single „Moody Blue“.

Our release has been taken directly from a 1st generation copy of an original audience recorded master cassette tape, as recorded by Claude Baker (aka Crazy Canuck), who passed away in September 2016. Claude attended, and recorded, all of Elvis' shows during the February tour of 1977.
Portions of the Charlotte concert were previously released from a soundboard tape on the official 'Follow That Dream' label, but this show has never been available on CD in its entirety before. Note: This is the very last audience-recorded show from the February 1977 tour that is still unreleased. The sound quality is very good. There are highlights a-plenty, including a soulful 'You Gave Me A Mountain', strong versions of 'My Way' and 'How Great Thou Art', and a truly gorgeous 'Unchained Melody'.
As usual, this release is presented in a de-luxe 6-panel digipak, with a collection of photos taken in Charlotte, February 20th, 1977 and two local press reviews. With special thanks to our dear friend, the late Bob Heis.

RUMBLE IN RHODE ISLAND

STRAIGHT ARROW - DIGIPACK

Musical Chairs at The King's LairOur first release is titled “Rumble In Rhode Island: Musical Chairs at The King’s Lair”. This is Straight Arrow’s very first release from Elvis' June/July 1974 tour and the Providence concert is easily one of the best of the tour!
The Straight Arrow team is always looking for rare, unknown or seemingly lost recordings. Once again, the labels researchers were successful - the Providence, June 22nd, 1974 3pm is a completely new show, even for die-hard Elvis fans. It has never been in circulation - in any form! (note: there is CDR with a so-called Providence, June 22, 1974 Afternoon show in circulation, but this one is wrongly dated recording, in fact this is the evening show).

Our CD is taken directly from an original audience recorded mastertape source. It was recorded by the same guy who taped those other Providence concerts on June 26, 1976 (afternoon) and the May 23rd, 1977 shows, which we released in 2011 („Matinee Majesty“ and „Funny How Time Slips Away“, both hard to find CDs now). The sound quality is very good for an off-line recording in a big auditorium. Highlights include a pounding 'Big Boss Man', and a truly dynamite 'Trying To Get To You'. 'Help Me' is sung with great warmth and sincerity.
This release is presented in a de-luxe 6-panel digipak. Unfortunately, only very few useful Providence June 22, 1974 3pm photos were available, and other shots taken during June/July 1974 tour have been used.

SWINGING INTO THE ACTION

To be released soon, Swinging Into The Action (SR Records) with focus on Elvis’ April&June 1972 tour, featuring Albuquerque NM April 19th 1972 and the Milwaukee WI, June 14th, 1972. Both the shows are previously unreleased taken directly from a first generation tape.
The SR attitude is to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility and without any doubt Elvis’ first two Tours in 1972 present him at the top of his possibilities, delivering maybe shows shorter than the previous November 1971 tour, but still solid. If Rock is an attitude the man still has it. The performances are terrific, rough and sharp.
Here are presented two unreleased shows from the April and June tour. Both the show are very similar, the track list is minimized and the shows are practically identical, with some minor exception like the rare “The First Time Ever Saw Your Face “ included in the final Show of Albuquerque..
We are happy and proud of the result we hope you can enjoy too, in spite of the limitation of the audience recording, we are talking of a big Arena shows not of the intimate Las Vegas showroom. The shows are fantastic and the track listing is solid, Elvis is delivering us a sort of greatest hits. Starting from his latest single Until It’s Time For You To Go then with the Anthem An American Trilogy passing the best single of 1969, Suspicious Minds without forgetting the glorious fifties with Heartbreak Hotel and Hound Dog…. All the songs are very well performed.
This new SR special Product will be housed in a deluxe LONG DIGIPACK, containing a 6 pages of foldout booklet with focus and details on the tour including a collection of live photographs newspapers clips and memorabilia plus a high quality glossy 135 gram paper poster of 50x26 cm size and a high glossy paper bonus art card of 25x13 cm of size..

THE BAD NAUHEIM TAPES PART 1 & 2

These days, it’s almost a miracle when something new turns up, especially when it’s from Elvis’ finest years. Two hours’ worth of homerecordings from 1959 sounds too good to be true, and yet here it is.
These remarkable recordings were made while Elvis lived in Bad Nauheim, Germany. Listening to these recordings, it’s clear that he is having a good time with his pals, but the keen listener will also note that he is mapping out his musical future.

Gospel music was always his first love, so naturally that’s well represented here. Most notable are several stabs at ‘He Knows Just What I Need’, and it’s not unlikely that the idea to record it at some point was born here. Same with ‘Are You Lonesome Tonight’, a song that would be a million seller for him one year later.

There’s some clowning around by all involved (most notably a goofy Lamar Fike reading the news), but what stands out most from these recordings is Elvis’ commitment to his music, his level of ambition and his determination to master several of these songs. What you hear on these significant recordings is an artist who knew that he had to reinvent himself in order to sustain a successful career. These private recordings offer a fascinating insight into the artist redefining his art at a crucial point in his career, and as such, this is essential listening for the Elvis fan & scholar.

Only a small part from these tapes have been released before, but the bulk of it is unreleased – almost three hours of Elvis at home, relaxed, doing what he loved most – making music.

ElvisOne is proud to be able to release these recordings as a 2 + 1 CD set, with rare photos from te timeframe, background notes and detailed track info. Available now!

This is Elvis like you never heard him before. With loads of unreleased material & notes from the files of Rex Mansfield. An awesome collection! For the first time you will hear Elvis sing in private:

This is exact how it appeared on the tapes, remastered for your listening pleasure but UNCUT! So expect some microphone overload or volume changes througout the tape. These tapes "UNCUT" is how real collectors need to have it in their collection.

SUMMER FESTIVAL 1970 - SPLICED TAKES

Another great album in this fine series, containing some very rare tracks from the “That’s the Way It Is” era.
This time some amazing splices were made from some of the rehearsals for the actual movie, since they were for rehearsal purposes the actual listening pleasure is missing in some way, because of the many breaks and repeating parts, until now.
Next to the rehearsals, excellent studio splices are also included as well as a great live version of “Just Pretend” with reprise.
I Just Can’t Help Believing – July 24, rehearsal
Twenty Days and Twenty Nights – July 14, rehearsal

How the Web Was Woven – Alternate Master *
Patch It Up – Spliced take 2,7,1
Mary in the Morning – July 24, rehearsal
You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me – August 4, rehearsal
You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ – July 24, rehearsal (funny version)
I’ve Lost You – August 10, rehearsal
Just Pretend – Live August 11/12 (with reprise)
Stranger in the Crowd – July 24, rehearsal
The Next Step is Love – Spliced take 2,6
Bridge Over Troubled Water – July 24, rehearsal

ELVIS' FORTY GREATES ONES

We’d like to present to you a collection containing Elvis’ first takes, recorded throughout the 60's and 70's. We at Gladyson consider these first takes to be on par and sometimes even better than the master recordings. Elvis in the studio did some magnificent first takes, but as sessions tend to go, the songs keep evolving, and everything gets perfected, but some of the magic seems to dissapear with each passing take. We have chosen the best first takes and collected them in this 40 track housed in a beautiful 6 panel double disc digi-pack, which we hope you enjoy. We have left some dialogue in where fitting, and are pleased with the results. Instead of listening to the masters, get out of your shell, put this disc into your player, and enjoy ''The Perfect 1''.

Disc 1:
01. Such A Night (Take 1) 02. Make Me Know It (Take 1) 03. Fever (Take 1) 04. I Met Her Today (Take 1) 05. I Believe In The Man In The Sky (Take 1) 06. Joshua Fit The Battle (Take 1) 07. Lonely Man (Take 1, Solo) 08. Forget Me Never (Take 1) 09. In My Way (Take 1) 10. In Your Arms (Take 1) 11. Anything That's Part Of You (Take 1) 12. Please Don't Drag That String Around (Take 1) 13. Memphis, Tennessee (Take 1, 1963 Version) 14. Down In The Alley (Take 1) 15. You'll Never Walk Alone (Take 1) 16. Wonderful World (Take 1) 17. It Hurts Me (1968 Version, Take 1) 18. If I Can Dream (Take 1) 19. Without Love (Take 1) 20. Power Of My Love (Take 1)
Disc 2:
01. Cindy, Cindy (Take 1) 02. Bridge Over Troubled Water (Take 1) 03. How The Web Was Woven (Take 1) 04. Heart Of Rome (Take 1) 05. Snowbird (Take 1) 06. Where Did They Go Lord (Take 1) 07. Miracle Of The Rosary (Take 1) 08. I've Got Confidence (Take 1) 09. Put Your Hand In The Hand (Take 1) 10. He Is My Everything (Take 1) 11. Fool (Take 1) 12. Girl Of Mine (Take 1) 13. I Miss You (Take 1) 14. I've Got A Feelin' In My Body (Take 1) 15. My Boy (Take 1) 16. Loving Arms (Take 1) 17. And I Love You So (Take 1) 18. T-R-O-U-B-L-E (Take 1) 19. It's Easy For You (Take 1) 20. Moody Blue (Take 1)
What can I say about this release? In my opinion a "live shot" for a studio outtakes album makes no sense. If you do a search in your favourite music programme on "[song, take 1] then you will found out that these first take songs are taken from FTD releases!  So this is a total waste of money and skip this one!
