LIKE A BLACK TORNADO - LIVE AT BOSTON GARDEN

The ‘Memphis Recording Service’ (MRS) Label will release a CD Deluxe titled ‘LIKE A BLACK TORNADO - LIVE AT BOSTON GARDEN 1971’.

This CD contains a captivating performance from one of Elvis’ earliest tours of the 1970s. Performed and recorded in Boston on 10th November 1971, this show demonstrates the raw energy and spirit Elvis displayed when performing away from his Las Vegas engagements, reminding everyone that, finally, he was back!

For the first time ever, this recording (formerly in mono) has been remastered, carefully restored, and remixed to true stereo using the most sophisticated technologies. The accompanying 40-page booklet includes rare photographs and memorabilia taken from this performance, along with introductory notes.

The MRS label has to compete with the beautiful release by the Gravel Road Music label. This bootleg label released a book with 3 discs but is more expensive than the MRS release.

THE BOSTON GARDEN NOVEMBER 10, 1971

This is a new project by Gravel Road Music. It's a three disc set in 24k gold high definition.

Gravelroad Music has announced a deluxe 168 pages book including a 24K gold CD, DVD & Bluray in HD to ensure the best possible quality. The audio is a brand new transfer from soundboard tape and the footage on Bluray is high definition.

The Book
168 pages and over 150+ rare or unknown photos of the Boston concert, from private collections, mainly in color and unedited news reviews (good & bad ones), personal stories & little known facts. For the first time, a brand new transfer from the concert which unveils much more detail, previously unnoticed! The sheer richness and fullness is amazing. The idea of a mono recording is gone! And the best thing is, this is the real deal!

You’re wondering, “Do gold CDs sound better? Are they really that much better than regular CDs?” Short answer : “You bet!” - The fact is that the gold disc's aural improvements are audible under any circumstances. Yes they can be played in any CD/DVD/Blu-ray player.
To us, this concert doesn’t need any enhancements to overwhelm the listener, it is the first row with ELVIS & 15,000 fans at the BOSTON GARDEN! It sounds all new. There was additional work but it all started with the transfer and we loved it! It’s a thrill to hear it like this.

We included due to the large demand the footage of Boston & the November tour also in HD on Blu-ray. (Almost 2 hours and yes, it includes little bit of new footage too). The very first release in High definition!
We’ve chosen to use dual-layer DVD to have the best possible quality on a DVD. As a bonus we added a compilation of Boston & Tuscaloosa to have a more enjoyable viewing expirience of the Boston concert. Although priority has been given to the historical content. So you’re good to go either way!

THE CONCERT RECORDINGS LAS VEGAS 1971 - PT. 1

The Dutch Elvis One label released 4 soundboard concert recordings from January 1971. All shows were previously released by other import/bootleg labels. If you don't have the original CD's these are a must have for your collection. The sound is very good for a 70's show and there aren't many soundboards from 1971 available. Only a few were originally released by the FTD label.

This first volume brings us the February 23 closing show and January 26, 1971 opening show. The February 23 closing show was  previously released by the labels International as Showroom Internationale 1971 and Gravel Road Music as Let It Rock and several songs from the January 26 opening night show was previously released by FTD as The Impossible Dream

THE CONCERT RECORDINGS LAS VEGAS 1971 - PT. 3

This 3rd volume in the "The Concert Recordings" series a live concert from January 28, 1971 midnight show concert in Las Vegas.

Soundboard concerts from 1971 were in the 'old days' pretty rare, but nowadays a lot of bootleggers released and re-released these shows, so they aren't so 'rare' anymore in my opinion.

We have this show already in our collection, maybe through these import labels:

Gravel Road Music - Leaner & Meaner Than Ever

HIGH NOTES AT THE KIEL

Rag Doll is back with a brand new unreleased audience recoring performance! ''High Notes At The Kiel'' contains Elvis his performance at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis on June 28, 1973.
The June 1973 tour is often considered one of Elvis best tours and while this certainly is true, some dark stuff went on preceding Elvis show on June 28, 1973 in St. Louis, MO.

Back stage moments before Elvis was supposed to take the stage Vernon Presley called Dr. Nick to the singers hotel room, only to find an Elvis that was passed out barely breathing, after an injection with a stimulant and putting Elvis in a bath tub full of cold water they put him in his nail studded jumpsuit and Elvis took the stage to loud applause.
Not showing any signs of what had happened only moments before. As seen in recently released 8mm footage and pictures one has to ask themselves was this story dramatized or was it all true?

For the first time we can now listen to the infamous concert containing one of Elvis his best versions of ''I Can't Stop Loving You'' and ''I'm Leavin’'' we also have a great performance of ''How Great Thou Art'' including a reprise, a beautiful ''Help Me Make It Through The Night'' and ''What Now My Love'' among the recently introduced ''Rock 'N' Roll Medley'' and a rousing performance of ''Steamroller Blues''.

The person who recorded this show unfortunately missed the first and last song but the majority is here and worth listening to and should be part of any serious Elvis fan's collection.
We are releasing this as a digipack filled with pictures of the show.

I Got A Woman
Help Me Make It Through The Night

This CD from the Paradise Road Records label has almost the same cover as their previoiusly release "Don't Cry Daddy and other great songs", but now with a black background. I guess the inspiration by the art designer was gone.

Although there are pretty good songs on this release, I don't understand why this label chose to put some songs twice on the CD: Let It Be Me, Polk Salad Annie and Teddy Bear/Don't Be Cruel.
